BEHIND THE DESIGN / App and web app / restaurant

TavolaHospitality starts with the menu.

An imaginary restaurant presented through dishes, ingredients, and separate paths for placing an order and reserving a table.

THE IMPRESSION WE WANT TO CREATE
«I feel invited to explore the dishes, and I immediately know how to order or book.»

Who it is for
People browsing a menu, putting together an order, or looking for a table.

A design intention, not a promise
This is the intention behind the design. Perception also depends on the audience, content, and service. It is not a result measured through testing or market research.

02 / CHOOSING THE COLORS

More than a palette.
A clear message.

For each color: its inspiration, the impression we want to create, and its role in the interface.

Cream

#FFFAF2
Why we chose it
It provides a warm base and gives the food photography room to shine.
What we want to communicate
Warmth and simplicity.
Where it is used
The experience's background.

Wine

#731D30
Why we chose it
It gives the brand and actions a distinctive signature.
What we want to communicate
A welcoming spirit and character.
Where it is used
Active navigation, branding, and buttons.

Wine brown

#362125
Why we chose it
It keeps the text in harmony with the primary accent.
What we want to communicate
Consistency and readability.
Where it is used
The menu's main information.

Linen

#F0E0D7
Why we chose it
It separates navigation from content with a shade close to cream.
What we want to communicate
Order without making the setting feel rigid.
Where it is used
The navigation bar surface.

Colors have no universal meaning and do not guarantee sales. Here, the associations are grounded in the imagery and the project's identity. Contrast, interaction states, and readability must be checked in actual use.

03 / TYPE AND IMAGERY

The tone comes through
in the details, too.

Georgia + Arial

Georgia gives the headings and brand the feel of a thoughtfully designed menu. Arial supports ingredients, prices, quantities, and controls, where practical readability matters.

The photography

Food photographs are large and close to their descriptions. The featured dish provides a starting point, while categories and cards keep the menu from being just a gallery.

04 / PAGES AND USER JOURNEY

Every page has a purpose.

The structure separates information and guides decisions. In apps, these sections represent screens or steps, not necessarily separate web addresses.

  1. 01

    Menu

Categories and dishes with photos, descriptions, and prices help visitors decide what to order.

  2. 02

    Dish details

Information and available options are brought together before a dish is added to the order.

  3. 03

    Order

Quantities and totals let users review the order before the simulated confirmation.

  4. 04

    Reserve a table

The reservation flow is separate from ordering: party size, day, and time address a different need.

  5. 05

    Summaries

Demo confirmations make the selections clear without sending requests to the restaurant.

The main user journey
